  My 4 year old laptop was painfully slow. It was puzzling to me because I only used it for basic use (e-mail, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). I’ve been putting off… read more fixing it because I thought it would be expensive and not worth my time. On a whim, I decided to research local computer repair specialists. Lightning Computer and Laptop Repair came up on my Yelp search, and I messaged them with my issue. Charles responded within 30 minutes and asked me for my laptops serial number and did a preliminary diagnosis based on the issues I was having. We set up an appointment for a few days later as he is located near downtown San Jose and I live in Morgan Hill and commute to Sunnyvale, so I wanted to get it taken care of on one of the days I have to go into the office. He was very communicative and understanding when I asked to change my drop off and pick up time and had my laptop ready within hours (I wasn’t planning to pick it up the same day because of my schedule, but it worked out that way). He sent me photos of my laptop and gave me a full rundown of what he did to repair it. I was impressed by his service and communication and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of PC or laptop repair.

I… read more had a Toshiba  ( thought was 8 years old but was possibly 10) laptop that was corrupted with viruses despite my McAfee rx . The hard drive as well as software was corrupted and failing. It was painfully slow to boot up or do any sort of applications I am not using a computer extensively, therefore had hesitations on buying a $500 replacement . I am currently job searching and my employment resume was on the corrupted laptop, making me nervous of losing it . Charles met me on the street on a Saturday evening to take my computer for servicing: it was ready on Sunday morning, faster than i could even pick it up
. For less than $200 , he restored the hard drive and software and backed up and saved all of my documents . Computer is now running close to like new! Charles is also quick to respond to any followup questions to non tech people such as myself. Thanks to Charles; i will be able to utilize a minimal use computer for a few more years and avoid a large purchase!

  Found Lightning Computer Repair on Yelp, read some of the reviews and decided to give them a try. As many of the reviews attest, Charles is awesome. I bought a… read more new laptop and needed the old one cloned to the new one so I wouldn’t have to re-install all the programs. Charles went out of his way to stop by my house and pick everything up (no charge). I was expecting at least a couple day turnaround, asked him when it would be ready and he said tomorrow by noon. I responded with a WOW, and he said that’s why we’re named Lightning. He also explained that some of the programs might not transfer over.  I was worried about all my graphics programs as I might not be able to re-install and re-activate some of them.  Everything moved over great except one of the spyware programs, and it was ready to pick up by 10am.   I have been working with another company trying to tell them to recover my pictures and documents for almost 2 months!!! I reached out to Charles and meet with him and went over my problems with data. I left everything with him and 4 days later, I picked up all my stuff with most of my pictures and documents recovered!
